Meet Maria Matsebula

Known to the children as Aunty Miemie. She joined our staff in August 1996. She originally helped us to get ABC Ministry started. She left our staff in 1998 and returned to work for us again in January 2004, after we had moved to Bulembu. She is the lady that does the laundry and makes sure that the children have clean clothes to wear every day. She also helps with the cooking and cleaning when necessary. She a single mom and has a 12 year old son, Linde-Paul, who is now doing Gr 7 at school.

Meet Maria-Alice Cele

Aunty Alice joined staff in July 2005 as a part-time worker and is now on permanent staff since January 2006. She is a 24 year old single mum and Rosa’s daughter. She has a baby girl named Ayanda, born September 2005. She helps to look after all the babies and helps wherever extra hands are needed.

Meet Annie Mbingo

Aunty Annie joined our staff on the 1 August 2002. She moved to Bulembu with us together with her husband and 3 children. Her husband now works at the local Sawmill. Their son, Sibusiso, is 14 years old and doing Form 2, another son, Thulani, is 9 years old and is in Gr 2 and their daughter, Nokwanda, is 5 years old and is in Pre-school. Annie does all the cooking for the ABC family. She makes sure that all the other workers are functioning correctly. She runs the home and she answers phones when we are not here. She also does most of the interpreting from English into Siswati and visa versa, for us when it is needed.

Meet Annah Nubunga

Aunty Annah joined our staff in November 2004.  She lives locally in the area and does a lot of community work with the orphans in the area as well.  She is our cleaning lady and does the laundry when Maria is off duty.  Annah is a single mum and has a daughter of 14 years old who is doing Form 3 this year.  Her son Delizwa has now also joined our staff.

Meet Ellinah Nkata

Aunty Ellinah joined our staff in July 2004. She is in charge of the toddlers and cares for all their needs. Ellenah’s husband has been without work for a number of years and has been unable to find work but he does odd jobs whenever he can and is growing maize and vegetables at their Homestead. Ellenah has 4 sons and 2 of them are living with her sister in South Africa and attending high school there. Her 3rd son is now in Gr 1 and the youngest son is 3 years old.

Meet Rejoice Khumalo

Aunty Rejoice is a single mum to a 13 year old girl, Lindokhule, who has just started High School. She is also Annie Mbingo’s sister. Rejoice joined our staff at the end of January 2006. She works with Jabu looking after the small babies.

Meet Leenah Khoza

Aunty Leenah joined us in February 2005. She is 65 years old and the children call her “Gogo” which means “Granny”. She is also Delizwe’s granny. She is one of 3 permanent night staff workers that we have. She makes sure that we are able to sleep well at night and she helps see to and meet the needs of the babies during the night.

Meet Busisiwe Sihlongonyane

Aunty Busisiwe joined our staff in May 2004 and is also a permanent night shift worker. She moved with us to Bulembu when we moved here. She is a single mom as her husband was killed in a car accident in 2003. She has 4 children she is raising on her own. Vusi, a boy, is 14 years old and is now in Gr 4, the twins are a girl, Hlengiwe, doing Gr 3 and a boy, Mhlalembisi, doing Gr 4, and they are both 12 years old and then there is Sizwe, a boy, of 10 years doing Gr 3.

Meet Rosa Mblambo

Aunty Rosa is our 3rd permanent nigh shift worker and has been with us since August 2002. She is a single mom as her husband died and she has a son, Michael, of 10 years old. Michael is in Gr 6. Rosa cares for the babies as if they were her own flesh and blood and cries bitterly whenever one leaves us to be adopted. She also has a daughter, Alice, who is now working with us.
